Orban Design

Providing the highest quality architectural rendering for Charlottesville and beyond.

Residential highlight from 2022

Alongside my 3D rendering work, I also provide residential plans for renovations and new construction. The house I featured in the post of December of last year is now under roof and will be finished this coming year. I have worked closely with the clients to refine the design using the 3D computer model to test out many iterations of the interior and exterior, which then I used to prepare the construction drawings for the builder.

While the majority of my work this past year was residential, I also had a nice variety of commercial and multi-family apartment projects that I’ve rendered. The images I prepare for these clients are typically used for marketing and/ or to help development teams visualize their project. Often the images begin with the initial design and material selections, but once clients see the images they find it helpful to take advantage of the ease with which the 3D model can be revised and work with me to refine the design.

Rendering projects from 2022, part 1

It’s been another great year at Orban Design. Many thanks to my clients for providing me with some great projects to render. First up are a collection of residential renderings. Many of these are projects that I’ve rendered for other architects to help their clients make design decisions on things like massing, exterior materials, and site orientation. Some projects also continue on to the interior to assist with decision-making there as well.

year in review – 2021

Despite the pandemic, the pace of construction and design seems to continue unabated, thankfully one of the bright spots of the economy. As folks are using their homes much more, I have also found an increase in the number of inquiries for design services for renovations and new construction. My proportion of work between 3D renderings and permit drawings has noticeably shifted towards the latter compared to previous years.

Many of the projects that I prepare drawings for I also have the opportunity to prepare 3D models of the architecture to assist with making design decisions and to understand the 2D drawings. The following images are projects where I also prepared working drawings up to permit/ pricing sets for my clients.

Other work shown below are renderings for various clients: owners; builders; real estate agents; developers. I am pleased with the relationships I have developed and maintained over the years, and here’s to many more exciting projects in the new year.
