Providing the highest quality architectural rendering for Charlottesville and beyond.

Summertime

Between the vacations the past couple months with my wife and kids, I still had plenty to work on over the summer. Here is an assortment of work I’ve completed recently, in a wide range of scales and styles.

Marketing renderings for an apartment building with a complex stepped series of roof terraces. I’ll probably work some more on these to show the terrace spaces with occupants, and maybe add some more variety to the green roofs. Often I’ll go through numerous iterations of my renders as I add in enough detail to satisfy the client.

Massing study for a new custom residence. These study models are very helpful to the architect and the client so the can quickly see if the schematic plans and elevations are heading in the right direction. There is an review board for this development and this is very helpful to use in presenting the schematic drawings.

SOCA interiors

Some recent work I completed was a series of renderings showing the proposed interior of the field house that is to be built for SOCA (Soccer Organization of the Charlottesville Area). I had previously completed renderings of the exterior of the building and the indoor field. This time, they wanted some renderings showing the interior of the head house for their most recent fundraising effort.

These renderings mainly show the entry sequence. The architects had recently completed the drawings for this portion of the building. Some of the main features are the trophy display cases at the entry, the information booth, and the “pub” cafe space. I also did one render to show the small gym on the lower floor.

June 2014 renderings

These renderings are of a pair of apartment buildings by the same architect. The first building is just starting construction, and so the rendering was done for the client for marketing purposes and use on a jobsite sign. The second building is in review currently by the zoning administration, as well as being presented by the developer to the community. There are several iterations of the second building that I didn’t include, which has different versions of massing of the rooftop/ penthouse volume.

For these interior views of a nursing home renovation and expansion, I used a softer watercolor style to prepare these renderings.
