Fall 2016: bridges, living rooms, streetscapes, and flythroughs

This fall has been packed, with great projects all around. The first pair of images shows a proposed stone bridge that would be part of a new entrance road at a historic site. This rendering request came as a direct result of the success of my previous landscape project where I modeled a bridge and dam structure. I used Vray for Blender for this project as well, and I was very pleased with how the stonework came out in the 3D model.

I also had a few interior rendering projects. It seems most new floorplans are quite open, so there is a lot to show in terms of how the spaces flow from living room to dining room to kitchen and any connected outdoor spaces. I usually take several views to show the dynamic qualities of the spaces.

I’ve also been working on some larger scale developments. This next project is an exterior design of a multi-family residential complex that is being built in a location that requires city design review. I’ve been involved in generating 3D exterior views throughout the design and the review process. We are hopeful this will be the final iteration and the review process will be complete.

Last, but certainly not least, I’ve been working on a high-end mixed-use building project that included preparing a high-quality rendered walk-through of the lobby and the residential units. The following are some stills from the project, as well as a link to the marketing page where you can see the video. You can also view the video on my vimeo page.

May 2014 updates

Here are some of my latest images from the past month. I’ve had the opportunity to work on some more contemporary interiors again, continuing on the modern themes from my last entry. The following project is a 2 story flat in an urban historic warehouse district, so the architecture reflects a more industrial feel. It also has lots of windows, so I wanted to show the feel of the natural light that would be flooding the apartment unit.

The next two images are watercolor style renderings, one a lobby renovation of an institutional building, and the other is a marketing image for a country club expansion and renovation.

End of the year wrap-up, various renders

It’s been a great 2013, and I am looking forward to an awesome new year! Here are a few projects from the last couple months of the year to round out this years’ posts. Again, I have a coffee shop project (see this other one for comparison.) I like how this one came out after the few rounds of client feedback. It’s fun to pop these cafe’s out, they are lively spaces.

Here’s another round of revisions on this one master suite and bathroom remodel that’s getting close to starting construction. The clients were inspired by Italian interior design, hence all the marble. I am also doing the construction documents on this one, working with the architect/ owner.

I’ve done a few renderings previously of this apartment building project. It has gone through a few iterations on materials and colors, I’ll be curious if this is the final color scheme.

This last project is one I started on just before the holidays and will continue through the new year. Right now it’s just work on the lobby/ entrance sequence, but should continue through the rest of the building space. It’s a very dynamic space, so it’s very helpful to the architect to see the way the programmatic elements interact in 3D.
